AI & Forecast Actions
AI & Forecast Actions use StatStream’s AI capabilities to predict future variable values or analyze existing data, surfacing the results directly or by email.
AI & Forecast Actions can be associated with Alert / Action Rules or Schedule Actions, so forecasts and analyses run automatically on the schedule or condition you define.
Available AI & Forecast Actions
Section titled “Available AI & Forecast Actions”StatStream supports the following types:

| Variable Forecast | Trains a forecasting model on historical data to predict future values for tagged variables. |
| AI Analysis | Runs an AI-based analysis on tagged data and emails the results to selected recipients. |
Each action has its own configuration fields, detailed below.
Variable Forecast
Section titled “Variable Forecast”The Variable Forecast action trains a forecasting model on historical data to predict future values for one or more tagged variables.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”| Field | Description |

| Name | Specifies the name of the action. |
| Description | Provides a brief description of the action. |
| Select Tags | Choose one or more tags whose variables you want to forecast. Each selected tag may have multiple linked variables. |
| Forecasting Model | Select the forecasting model approach to use. |
| Use Data From Date | Historical data from this date onwards is used to train the forecast model. |
| Forecast Horizon | Select how many days into the future you want to forecast. |
- The forecast model trains on historical data starting from the selected date, up to a maximum of 5,000 data points.
AI Analysis
Section titled “AI Analysis”The AI Analysis action runs an AI-based analysis on tagged data and emails the results to selected recipients.
Configuration
Section titled “Configuration”| Field | Description |

| Name | Specifies the name of the action. |
| Description | Provides a brief description of the action. |
| Analysis Type | Select the type of AI analysis to perform. |
| Select Tags | Select the tags to include in the analysis. |
| Notification Email 1 | Primary recipient email for the analysis results. |
| Notification Email 2 | Secondary recipient email (optional). |
| Notification Email 3 | Tertiary recipient email (optional). |
- Notification Email 1 is required.
- Notification Email 2 and Notification Email 3 are optional.
- Supports up to 3 email recipients per action.
Typical Use Cases
Section titled “Typical Use Cases”AI & Forecast Actions can be used to:
- Forecast future energy consumption, production output, or other key variables based on historical trends.
- Run AI-driven analysis on asset or process data and automatically email the results to the responsible team.
- Support predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and capacity planning using AI-generated insights.
