Authentication

All StatStream REST API requests must be authenticated using an API key.

Generate an API Key

To create a new API key:

1. Sign in to the StatStream web application.
2. Navigate to Manage Organization → API Keys.
3. Click Create API Key.
4. Enter a Name, Description, and Owner.
5. Generate the key and store it securely.

Caution

For security reasons, the API key is displayed only once when it is created. Make sure to copy and store it in a secure location before leaving the page.

Authenticate Requests

Include your API key in the Authorization header using the Bearer authentication scheme.

Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>

Authentication Errors

Requests with an invalid, expired, revoked, or deleted API key will receive an HTTP 401 Unauthorized response.

HTTP Status	Description
401 Unauthorized	The API key is missing, invalid, expired, revoked, or has been deleted.
